Those are my prints!  Doing the artist alley thing, remember?  We have some lovely Disgaea doodles and Persona pictures...gotta love that alliteration.   You'll get your choice of either the standard 8.5x11" prints or 11x17" tabloid/poster sized prints.  Everything is on high-quality cardstock paper and lovingly sealed in cellophane envelopes.  As an added bonus, if you buy two prints, you'll get some original art FREE!  People still like free stuff right?

Good evening denizens of deviantArt, how is everyone today?  Hopefully well.  Today I update this journal with some exciting news...now I've been saying over and over for a little while now that I have all kinds of new artwork but that I've been unable to post said artwork for certain reasons.  Over these past couple of months, I've alluded to being involved in a little project that has prevented me from posting, and now finally, I can reveal the reason why.  But, before I do that, let me tell you a little story.  

Back in 2005, when I was still relatively "fresh" to deviantArt, digital artwork, the concept of commissions, tablets and the whole nine yards, a small idea was forming in the back of my mind.  I noticed that around early spring until school would resume in September-October people would constantly post that they were preparing for the upcoming anime and comic convention season.  Like I said, I was a newbie and assumed that they meant they were planning to go with friends and take in certain panels, like I do.  Of course some did but in most instances their preparation had to do with artwork.  Artwork and the famous artist alley...

Do you see where I'm going with this now? If not, let me continue.  So little Leah had a little idea or maybe we can say she was intrigued by this whole artist alley idea.  Not so much that people would buy other people's artwork but that someone enjoyed an artist's work so much, they wanted to take it home with them.  After all, I love to draw, it makes me happy, and I'm happy that there are things I do that people like.  I even smile at all the comments about the cutesy stuff I've drawn in the past.  So in 2008 I made up my mind that by 2010 I need to at least try and get into an artist alley somewhere in Toronto.  Figuring that if I could do it in my hometown, I'd go to other places and eventually take on the big US conventions. Anime North is the big convention for Toronto, in 2010 I managed to get on their waiting list, 2011 couldn't  manage to snag the first 50 tables let alone their waiting list.  But this year...it's different.  Ladies and gentlemen, for the weekend of May 25-27, instead of my usual panel hopping...



Now I'm not trying to brag, I'm really not.  I'm well aware of how competitive AN's table lottery is(this is my 3rd time trying to get in!), I'm just incredibly excited.  So where does all this secret art come in? Well all that artwork is for my prints!  If you look through my livestream channel, my tumblr, my sketchblog and other places , there's actual video footage and screenshots of me working on stuff for this and the only reason I haven't said anything for so long was, if I didn't get a table, I'd look like an idiot and two...I was worried how I'd be received, I'm sensitive darn it!  I can say though over this last little while not only have people been really encouraging and supportive, but a lot of the more experienced AA people have been shooting me tips left, right and centre, I love it.  So there you have it, the cat's out of the bag as it were.  In these next couple of weeks I'm going to be finishing off and tweaking artwork before sending it off to the printers.  I'll be posting teaser images closer to the convention date, along with my table location. Once again, I'm really excited!


Lastly, I think you all need to know that I've been comparing this whole event to that feeling of accomplishment that comes where you clear a level in a videogame.  With that in mind...STAGE CLEAR!

First of all, here's a late happy 2012, a big thank you for all the birthday wishes I received last week and I hope the year has been good to you so far 8D!  So most of you are aware of the whole SOPA protest that various websites are participating in, deviantArt included.  So...doing anything special while your favourite site is down? Will you go stir crazy? Is your productivity at work going to be affected somehow?

For me, I'm using the downtime to get some artwork done.  It's amazing how many sites there are out there to easily get distracted on.  I'm hoping to stream tomorrow(barring the livestream site participating in the whole blackout thing).  Get some inking and colouring done!  Stop in if you have a moment, I'll try posting when I'm online on twitter and facebook!

I'd like to take a moment to remind you all that there's only 2 count em', 2 days left until it's Christmas eve.  So if you haven't wrapped up(pun intended) your shopping...what on earth are you waiting for?!? Get away from that computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone and get to shopping!  I did it and so can you!

So anyone looking for something in particular this Christmas? Going anywhere special or just enjoying the time at home? For me, hoping to finish off that secretive art project I've been going on and on about for a while.  A little break from the project to do some Secret Santa art and of course enjoy some quality time with my family.

My goodness it's been a while since I've written a "proper" entry, hasn't it? So to make up for it, might as well write one now while I'm waiting for my Gosick torrent to finish downloading(you really should check out that series, it has gothic lolita fashion which is so pretty, mysteries and the main character Victorique is adorable!).  So what have I been up to you ask? Well:

o1. I'm currently down with bronchitis so I really should be resting, but I've been resting all week and now I'm quite bored, I shall rectify this with some arting ;D!  One good thing about being sick is you get to read a lot.  And reading has become exponentially more enjoyable with my lovely...ipad <3!

o2. So I have this SUPER DUPER SECRET art project(that may not be so secret anymore as I'm writing about it!) that I've been steadily finishing up for the past couple of months.  And it's coming along swimmingly.  Here, have a wip related to said project:

As result of doing more wheezing and coughing than anything else, I've been in bed for most of the week and to combat the boredom, I've been floating around gaia and out of boredom, made an rp.  Any steampunk fans out there? Sorry I've been away so long, was busy with Christmas and dealing with health issues but I'm back and better than ever.  Gotta say, Christmas 2010 was the best one to date !  How was it for everyone else?  Have any new year resolutions?  Want to know what's fun? Coming to this after not checking deviantArt for three weeks...Still weeding through everything, is it just me or is everyone EXTREMELY prolific during the holidays?  Speaking of art, I have some stuff to get inking.



A ginormous thank you to everyone who sent out birthday wishes, wasn't expecting so many from dA, feels good man.  My phone has been ringing off the hook as I have 50 billion cousins(okay...not that many) and a large extended family, all with my cellphone number and facebook, so many people to thank D:!



Was planning to livestream tonight, but I think I'll save that for tomorrow, too tired from the birthday-ing!   

How's everyone doing? Can't really complain myself, busy working on revamping my site.  I've posted a few screenshots on my tumblr and sketchblog.  And here's an early version that I've been playing around with.  Other than that I'm sketching away!
